Design and construction of an orthodontic clinic on the first floor of an existing building.
Guishan district, Taoyuan City, Taiwan.

Completed – In cooperation with designer Mengshu Li

Since our client is also our dentist, our aim was to design a clinic we would be less afraid to go to: a space that feels accessible, rather than hermetic.

The floor plan is easy to read and use for both doctors and patients: the treatment and waiting area form one main hall along the street, seeking the public and the natural light. All secondary spaces gravitate around the hall, along one unique path, rather than being linked to each other. Visual axes run across the clinic, through glass and sliding panels, so that each space seems to extend into another.
